Kenny Lattimore's album, Timeless, was released by Verve Music Group in September 2008. It is the latest in the singer's compilation of soul stirring songs.

From the start Kenny Lattimore has kept to his own unique sound and style. At a time when record companies push musical artists to follow popular trends Kenny Lattimore has stood his ground. Thanks to his boundless talent, his strong, rich voice and his smooth, gentlemanly style it works.

He and songbird, Deborah Cox (singer of the hit song “Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here”), will be on tour this summer. The tour kicks off in Savannah, Georgia on July 11. During the tour Kenny will sing popular songs from his latest work, Timeless.

The Beginnings of a Rewarding Career

Kenny Lattimore was born in Washington, DC on April 10, 1967. He attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland. According to Star Pulse, Kenny’s early professional music career started to jell when he recorded songs with the group Maniquin. Those early days were lessons in learning the business. It was also during the time when music by singers like Pebbles, Terrence Trent D’Arby, Billy Ocean, Al B Sure, Freddie Jackson, Sade and Tony! Toni! Tone! were topping the charts.

It wasn’t until 1996 that Kenny stepped into his own shine when he released his self-titled album, Kenny Lattimore under Columbia Records. The album found the singer compared to smooth soloists like Marvin Gaye, Babyface and Donny Hathaway. The song “For You” from the album rose up the record charts, landing at number 33 on Billboard Top 100 and number six on Billboard’s rhythm and blues charts.

Soul of Kenny Lattimore

Two years later Lattimore released his second album, From the Soul of Man.

By this time it was clear to anyone who listened to the crooner’s music and especially to anyone who went to his emotionally charged and deeply stirring live performances, that Kenny Lattimore was a talent to be reckoned with. The comparisons between other successful performers, men who honored their strength while at the same time they remained in tune with their sensitive, gentle and romantic sides, continued.

The difference with From the Soul of Man was that Kenny Lattimore was no longer new to the music and professional entertainment scenes. He was confident, all grown up and it was showing.

A little over three years after he released From the Soul of Man, Kenny Lattimore rang in the New Year by marrying Chante Moore on January 1, 2002 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. In 2003 the couple recorded an album of duets titled Things That Lovers Do. That same year, the couple also welcomed the birth of their first child, Kenny Lattimore, Jr. Their child shares the same month and day for his birthday, April 10, as does his father.

Timeless Love From Kenny Lattimore

Kenny Lattimore’s apparent devotion to his wife adds credence to the love songs that he sings. Timeless includes tracks like “Something,” “Ain’t No Way,” “I Love You More Than Words Can Say” and the widely popular track “And I Love Her.” Rhythm and blues, soul and jazz enthusiasts will likely recall hearing “And I Love Her” playing on smooth jazz stations like Detroit, Michigan’s WVMV and San Diego, California’s KIFM. Kenny’s vocals are fluid, moving like silk, on the cut. It’s almost as if he wants every person in the world to know how much he loves a woman.
